Been a little AFK, but last weekend I went to Glasgow’s Jamtoday.eu game jam and helped make a game! I was the artist on the project, and was working with two fantastic programmers!
The goal of Bendy Bob is to guide a broken robot through the level using a custom simplified programming language which allows you to interact with the World and solve simple puzzles.
He woke up this morning broken in a scrapyard, with no memory of how to do basic robot things. He can sort of move but his hard drive is broken and he has limited storage space.
It’s your job to help him regain his memory by using high level code and items to navigate through his messy environment.
Help Bob search the junkyard for USBs, batteries and a new hard drive, while trying to avoid the dangers of the scrapyard!”
It was a great experience and I plan on doing more!
If 18 or 20 palettes wasn’t enough, I present to you: my 100 Palette Challenge! This is a collection of some of my favourite palettes from color-palettes and Adobe Kuler and I thought it would be really fun to have a huge variety of palettes to chose from
Another progress picture. About 2.5 hours so far. Major Samantha Carter from Stargate Sg-1 as portrayed by Amanda Tappings. This actress doesn’t get enough credit in my books for playing female characters that are both complex and real.
Working on so many things right now. Will post the others over the next couple days.
Messing with some new oils a friend passed my way. They are by a company called Genesis and set by heat! Best part is they have no smell! Well, that and they don’t dry at all until you use a heat n on them. So far I like them a lot. The above piece is a work in progress that I’m using them on. It’s Elizabeth Sherman from Hellboy.
I also have a lovely set of sennillier oils I have been meaning to use as well. I wanted to find walnut oil for mixing first, so held off on using them. Apparently it’s hard to find in the UK. I did get some safflower oil, so will probably start a new painting with them soon. Will tackle Abe sapien next :).
